Volunteering opportunities come to the NGL office

We love volunteering and giving back. This week United Way of Dane County joined us at our offices for a couple of fun volunteer opportunities that will make a big impact for people in our community.

750 snack packs created

Team members at our Downtown office assembled 750 snack packs for students in Dane County. Each snack pack included pretzels, gold fish crackers, dried fruit snacks and a handwritten motivational note.

In the U.S. 1 in 7 children struggle with hunger and studies prove how hunger can change a life. For children, everything from health, development and behavior is impacted by hunger. Kids should be focused on learning and concentrating on school, not wondering where their next meal or snack is coming from.

The economic impact from our two hour volunteer opportunity was $2,450! But even better than that, we know kids will be receiving an uplifting message to motivate them and a snack to fill their little bellies.

750 diaper packs created

Team members at our West location assembled diaper packs. Each pack contained 10 diapers and a pack of wipes with all of the packs being given to Middleton Outreach Ministry to distribute. Babies go through about 10 diapers a day, so this pack will make a huge difference to families.

“Thanks to the many NGL employees who came to assist, they were all so wonderful to work with!”

Shannon Ash, Psy.D. Program Director at Middle Outreach Ministry

Imagine what a difference receiving a diaper pack will be for families. We helped to put 7,500 diapers into the hands of families who need them. It will help to alleviate some of the stress of not knowing if you will have a clean diaper for your baby. Additionally, the economic impact from our two hour volunteer opportunity was $4,750.

Thanks to everyone at NGL who took time out of their day to volunteer!
