Community Impact: NGL Engages in Inspiring Events in June 2024

June was a busy month with a variety of community events for our team members to participate in and connect with others. National Guardian Life Insurance Company (NGL) is proud is invest in our community and support our nonprofit partners that are making a positive impact and changing lives.

Check out highlights from community events we engaged in during the month of June:

Meet the Heroes Reception – American Red Cross Southwest Wisconsin Chapter

The American Red Cross Southwest Wisconsin Chapter Meet the Heroes Reception was held at our building on June 6. The evening recognized and celebrated inspiring community heroes who are dedicated to the American Red Cross and helping others.

It was an inspiring event with eight awards presented to individuals who are making an impact through generosity, dedication and humanitarian service. Maria Lubick, Assistant Vice President, Corporate Communications & Community Engagement at NGL had the privilege of presenting the 2024 Community Impact Hero Award to Sam Cooke, a U.S. Navy Veteran of five years who works for the Madison Fire Department and started a nonprofit called Cooke’s Charitable Cattle Company. Sam’s passion has helped feed many people who rely on the services of Second Harvest Foodbank. Click here to watch a video about Sam and his nonprofit.

In 2023, the Southwest Wisconsin Red Cross Chapter:

  • Collected nearly 80,000 lifesaving units of blood
  • Responded to 148 local disasters and assisted 211 families in those responses
  • Installed over 1,378 smoke alarms, making over 466 homes safer
  • Provided preparedness training to over 865 adults and students
  • Provided 856 services to local military members, Veterans and their families

Heroes Golf Outing – American Red Cross Southwest Wisconsin Chapter

As a Presenting Sponsor of the Heroes Golf Outing, there were two-foursomes from NGL who participated in the golf outing on June 10. They had a great day representing NGL on the course and raising money to benefit the Red Cross.

Loop the Lake – Clean Lakes Alliance

More than 1,856 people, including more than 40 NGL team members and their families participated in-person and virtually in the Loop the Lake event benefiting Clean Lakes Alliance. The event raised money for lake improvement projects, educational programs and water quality monitoring.
