Plunging for Special Olympics Wisconsin

Teams from NGL have raised thousands of dollars and participated in the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Wisconsin for years, but this is the first time we’ve had the privilege of having an athlete from Special Olympics join our plunge team.

Steve W., one of the athletes who attended our 2023 End of Year Celebration reached out to us and asked if he could jump with our team. We enthusiastically said, “Yes!” He wanted to highlight our team’s support by taking the plunge and braving the cold. Steve has been very complementary of how inclusive and welcoming everyone at NGL was during the celebration and this was a way he wanted to show his gratitude.

“I participate in the Polar Plunge every year to support and raise money for the athletes. The money raised gives the children and adult athletes the opportunity to develop physical fitness, compete in Olympic sports, build friendships, and experience the excitement of being a part of a team. Special Olympics provides a wonderful and supportive community for athletes and their families,” said Jeanne Curley, Senior Contract Administrator at NGL.

“Jumping into the freezing cold water isn’t as bad as people think it is. Yes, it’s cold, but it goes by so quickly and is completely worth it because you’re supporting an amazing nonprofit,” said Jeanne.

Leah, Holly and Travis rounded out the team from NGL. They raised nearly $2,000 to benefit Special Olympics Wisconsin!

Congratulations to the team for taking the plunge and raising money to benefit Special Olympics Wisconsin! NGL is proud to be a $2,500 Supporter Sponsor of the 2024 Madison Polar Plunge and help create opportunities for everyone in our community thrive.
