Thank you to funeral directors, mortuary staff and all death care professionals who are our last responders. These professionals are there for us during one of life’s most challenging moments. They make sure our deceased loved ones are treated with dignity and respect, support us when we are grieving and help us celebrate and remember our loved ones.
“Thank you to all of the death care professionals in our country,” says Kim Shaul, Interim President & CEO at National Guardian Life Insurance Company (NGL). “Our death care professionals are integral members of our communities. They provide a quiet, compassionate service and their dedication to helping others can often be overlooked until we need them. They are incredible members of our community who care for people during some of the worst moments of their lives. NGL is proud to support their work.”
“The loss of a loved one is one of the most devastating experiences an individual can go through,” shares Cameron Black, Vice President, Sales and Business Development. “What a wonderful opportunity we have now to recognize the heroes who step in and support families as they begin the healing process. These last responders create and help remind families of all the memories that will keep those loved ones close to their hearts and never forgotten. Thank you for everything you do.”
Special thank you to Carriage Services for their efforts in recognizing and commemorating this day.
January 20 was selected as the date because it was first confirmed COVID-19 case in the United States. The pandemic helped shine a light on how important our last responders are in our community. As many people were sheltering in their homes, the last responders continued to serve and ensure the dead received the dignity they deserved.
